In your Mention Alerts, you might find content from certain websites or social media accounts that are not relevant to your monitoring. If you do not want to receive mentions from specific URLs, you can block them at any time!
In this article, we will provide you with the steps to block URL's of a websites and user profiles directly from Mention Alerts, the Feed, and Influencer Dashboard.
❗️Before we begin, please be aware of some information regarding this process:
Blocking a URL is not available for Instagram mentions because Mention does not receive author information from this platform.
You can un-block a URL at any time but Mention will not retroactively fetch data from these websites / accounts.
When you block a URL, it only applies for the Alert that you are on. The URL block will not apply to any other alerts.
There are several ways for blocking sources based on your Subscription:
★ From the Feed
Click on a mention in your Feed, hover over it and click on the Block button.
You can also block this URL from the mention preview after you click on an mention in your list:
★ From the Influencers Dashboard
On the Influencer Dashboard you can block URLs as well for the alert you are viewing. You can click on the Block Source button that you will find in the Actions column of the Influencers Table.
★ From the Alert Settings page in Basic Alerts
Once you get to the Alert Setting page, you can block websites in the Exclude websites section. You only need to copy paste the exact URL of the site in the Excluded websites urls field. Then click on enter to commit value!
This is also where you can go to un-block URL's that you blocked from the Feed or Influencer Dashboard! Simply click on the blocked domain and delete it from your Excluded Websites page.
★ From the Alert Settings page in Standard Alerts
When you go into the Alert Settings page for a Standard Alert, you can click on the Blocked Websites drop-down menu on the left side of your page. From there, you just need to paste the URL of the website that you want to block. Please make sure you copy the exact URL into this field!
This is also where you can go to un-block URL's that you blocked from the Feed or Influencer Dashboard! Simply find the URL you want to un-block and delete it from your Excluded Websites page.
★ From the Alert Settings page in Advanced Alerts
When you go into the Alert Settings page for an Advanced Alert, you can click on the Blocked Websites tab . From there, you just need to paste the URL of the website that you want to block. Please make sure you copy the exact URL into this field!
This is where you can go to un-block URL's that you blocked from the Feed or Influencer Dashboard! Simply click on the Blocked Websites tab and delete the URL from the list.
❗️Please note that you can block up to 1000 URLs in Mention!
