When linking a Social Account to Mention, the system will ask you to authorize certain permissions. These permissions allow Mention to post on your behalf so you can Respond and Publish content directly through the app.

Please refer to the information below about the permissions for social accounts on Mention:

Twitter

  • Allow Mention to read account posts.
  • Allow Mention to write posts to account timeline.
  • Allow Mention to read or write in account’s direct messages.

LinkedIn

  • Allow Mention to post on behalf of an authenticated member.

Facebook

  • Allow Mention app to read a user's primary email address.-
  • Allow Mention app to publish posts, comment and like Pages managed by the app user.
  • Allow Mention app to manage and access Page conversations in Messenger.
  • Allow Mention app to read an Instagram Account profile's info and media.
  • Allow Mention app to get access to insights for the Instagram account linked to the Facebook Page. Can also discover and read the profile info and media of other business profiles.
  • Allow Mention app to read the Insights data for Pages, apps, and web domains the person owns.

Instagram

  • Allow Mention app to read an Instagram Account profile's info and media.
  • Allow Mention app to get access to insights for the Instagram account linked to the Facebook Page. Can also discover and read the profile info and media of other business profiles.

In order to add an Instagram Business Page to Mention, you must make sure it is linked to a Facebook account. Having your IG Business Page linked to Facebook will allow Mention to properly authorize it as a Social Account in the platform. For this reason, you will see that Facebook permissions also include Instagram information in the list above.
