Reach is a metric calculated by Mention that displays the potential web traffic of the content in your Feed. It is an estimate amount of potential viewership and it appears in multiple areas of the platform.

Mention will provide Reach for these sources:

  • Twitter

  • Facebook public business pages

  • Web

  • News

  • Blogs

  • Forums

  • TikTok*

  • Pinterest*

  • YouTube*

❗TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube mentions are only available on the Company Plan.

❗ Mention does not support the reach metric for the following sources: Instagram, Videos, Radio & TV

The Reach metric provides great insight regarding the impact of your brand. For example, you can use it to monitor a new campaign release or conduct reputation management depending on the content that is being posted. Furthermore, Reach will also be able to showcase how your competitors are doing as well.

❗Please be aware that the Reach metric does not take into account ad clicks! The Reach metric is simply an analysis on potential viewership.

Reach appears in multiple areas of the Mention platform and you can engage with the Reach metric in multiple ways! To learn more about how to utilize reach, see below:


Reach in the Mention Platform

In this section, we will go over where the Reach metric appears and how you can engage with it depending on the Mention feature you are accessing.

Mention Feed:

The Mention Feed will provide reach for Twitter and Facebook mentions. To view reach, you can can open a mention from your feed and the number will appear at the bottom.

Once you have seen the reach, you can engage with the mention through the Task Bar by copying the original link or e-mailing it to colleagues and clients!

Influencers Dashboard:

The Influencers Dashboard will provide reach for Twitter or Web mentions. The reach number will appear in your Influencer Table section. You can view the content in the Influencer Table or you can create an Influencer List to keep track of websites or Twitter accounts with a large audience!

Insights Center:

The Mention Insights Center has the ability to provide reach for Twitter, Facebook, and Web mentions. You have the option of creating reach graphs utilizing the Reach segmentation.

When you create a graph, Mention will show you cumulative reach which is the total reach of all 3 sources listed above. The Insights Center offers filters to adjust your data if you would like to view data from specific sources, a specific time period, or specific languages / countries. This feature is the best option to use if you would like to analyze trends and data in a quick manner!

Reports:

When you create a Mention Report, you will be able to see a Reach graph for Twitter, Facebook, or Web mentions on Mention's Data Reports. Mention utilizes multiple types of reports so here is a breakdown of Reports that offer reach:

  • Listening / Comparative Reports: Mention will automatically provide a reach graph for your data

  • Company Plan - Mentions List: the automatic list report will provide Reach if you open a Twitter or Facebook mention

  • Company Plan - Custom Report: you have the option of creating a a Reach graph in the custom report template

Depending on your Mention subscription, you can view data directly in the platform with your teammates or email content out via scheduled reporting! Mention reports will provide valuable insights regarding the viewership of content. On top of that, you will also see a dashboard of other metrics to truly get a macro view of your content.

Exports:

In Mention, you can export content on the Mention Feed, Influencer Dashboard, Insights Center, and Reports section. When content is exported, the reach will also export accordingly. This is another feature that is built to make data sharing easy for you and your teams!


Reach for TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube

Mention offers the reach metric for TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube as well!

Reach for these sources will appear on:

  • The Mention Feed

  • Insights Center & Reports

  • Exports
