Mention allows you to connect several social profiles for engagement and analysis within the platform in your Social Account Settings page!
You have the ability to add these Social Media pages to your Mention account:
Facebook Business page
Twitter Account
Instagram Business Account
LinkedIn Company page
With a social account connection, you will be able to create social account reports, interact with mentions (source specific), schedule posts, or respond to content! To learn more, visit this article on the benefits of connecting your social media to Mention.
To add a new Social Account to Mention please go to the Social Accounts tab of your Settings page. From there, click on Add account:
From there, you can choose the social account you want to add to your platform:

Once you connect a Facebook Page to Mention, you will unlock the ability to engage with Facebook's content directly through the Mention platform and view analytics about your accounts. You also have the option of collaborating with teammates for topics such as social media scheduling and engagement.

Facebook Prerequisites
With regards to Facebook connections, Mention requires that you must have access to a Facebook Public Business Page through your personal account. At this time, you cannot connect your Facebook profile to Mention.
If you do not have a Facebook public business page, you can create one directly on Facebook's platform using your personal account. Please follow the steps below to create your page. If you already have a Facebook business page to connect to Mention, you can head over to the next section titled Connect a Facebook Business Page to Mention.
⚙️ Create a Facebook Business Page on Facebook web platform:
Open your Facebook Profile
On the top right hand side, you will see a menu button (9 circles) next to your profile name. Click on this and head over to the section titled Create --> Page
From there, you can fill out the page information such as name and description.
⚙️ Create a Facebook Business Page on the Facebook Mobile App:
Go to the Facebook app and click on the menu icon (bottom right-hand side)
From there click on the Pages option
At the top of your display, you will see Create. Click on this to begin the process.
Please fill out the information about your page and finalize everything!
Extra Information Regarding Facebook Pages Managed by Teams:
If your team already has a Facebook page but you need access to the page through your personal account, please contact the admin that manages the page and they can grant you a role. You must be a Page Admin or Editor for the page you want to add to Mention. This process is done directly on Facebook's platform, not through Mention.
Connect a Facebook Business Page to Mention
Once the prerequisites are met, you can begin the process of connecting your Facebook page to Mention! Please follow the steps below:
Open your Mention web platform and head over to the left-hand side. Scroll to the bottom and click on your profile image. This will bring you to Account Settings.
From there, head over to the tab titled Social Accounts.
Please click on the button Add Account. This will open a pop-up menu with the option to choose a social account.
Once you click on the Facebook option, you will receive a second pop-up which will be the login page for Facebook. Please login using the Facebook account that you manage the page on.
Mention will recognize your credentials and show you a list of pages that the Facebook account manages. Please click on the one you want to connect.
Optional: You will receive a message from Mention asking you if you would like to share access to teammates on your account. You can set permissions at this time or at a late time.
Congratulations! You have now connected your Facebook Page to Mention.

🔧 Troubleshooting Tips:
If you do not see any pop-ups during this process, please turn off any ad-blockers that are connected to your web browser.
If you are already logged in to a Facebook account in your web browser, Mention will quickly recognize this and attempt to connect to the Facebook account that is signed in. This will help you get through the process quicker! However, if the account is managed on a different Facebook account then we recommend signing out of Facebook in your web browser, using an incognito window, or using a different browser that is not signed in to anything!
If you login to Mention using your account credentials and Mention notifies you that there are no pages to connect, please contact the admin who manages the Facebook page. You must first get access to the page via page roles on Facebooks platform and you must be a Page Admin or Editor to connect.
Disconnect your Facebook Page from Mention
If you would like to remove your Facebook page from Mention, you can head over to Social Account settings! The process is quick and easy, you can follow the steps below:
If you are the only one with access to the account, please head over to social account settings and click on the ⚙️ icon next to the Facebook account you want to remove. From there, a pop-up will appear with the option to delete the social account:
If multiple users have access to the account, please follow the same steps as above. However, when the pop-up appears, please click on the option titled 'Want to delete it for everyone':
⚙️ Remove Mention Connection on Facebook's Platform
Deleting a social account on Mention will not remove the integration on Facebook's native platform. You have the option of :
Waiting until the connection expires .
Removing it manually at any time!
To remove the connection, please head over to your Facebook Account and follow these steps:
Open the Facebook website and click on the drop-down arrow on the top right-hand side. This will open a drop-down menu.
Click on Settings & Privacy and then go to Settings.
Scroll down to Business Integrations and open the page.
Please click on the checkbox next to Mention and remove the active integration.

Twitter Prerequisites
At this time, all you need is an active Twitter account for Mention! It can be your personal account or an account that is used to manage a business / company. As long as you have the credentials for the account, you can connect it to Mention.
Connect a Twitter Account to Mention
Once you know which account you want to connect to Mention, you can follow the steps below:
Open your Mention web platform and head over to the left-hand side. Scroll to the bottom and click on your profile image. This will bring you to Account Settings.
From there, head over to the tab titled Social Accounts.
Please click on the button Add Account. This will open a pop-up menu with the option to choose a social account.
Please choose the Twitter option and you will receive another pop-up which will be the Twitter login page. Please use your credentials to connect!
Optional: You will receive a message from Mention asking you if you would like to share access to teammates on your account. You can set permissions at this time or at a late time.
Congratulations! You have now connected your Twitter account to Mention!

Disconnect your Twitter Account from Mention
If you want to remove your Twitter account from Mention, you can head over to the Social Account settings page. From there, please follow these steps:
If you are the only one with access to the account, please head over to social account settings and click on the ⚙️ icon next to the Twitter account you want to remove. From there, a pop-up will appear with the option to delete the social account:
If multiple users have access to the account, please follow the same steps as above. However, when the pop-up appears, please click on the option titled 'Want to delete it for everyone':
⚙️ Remove Mention Connection on Twitter's Platform
Deleting your social account from Mention will not remove the connection on Twitter's native platform. To remove the connection, please head over to your Twitter account and follow these steps:
On the Twitter Mobile App:
On your mobile app, click on your profile photo at the top left-hand side. This will open the side-menu.
From there, click on settings and privacy.
Once the settings page opens, click on the option titled security and account access. Next, click on the option titled apps and sessions.
When this page opens, you will see Mention listed as a session. You can remove Mention from this section!
On Twitter Web Platform:
On the left-hand menu of your Twitter page, please click on More. From there, choose the Settings & Privacy option.
Please click on the option titled Security and Account Access.
From there, click on the section titled Apps and Sessions.
Here, you will see your connected sessions including Mention. You can choose to remove Mention from here!

Within the Mention platform, you have the option of connecting your Instagram Business Account. Once you connect your account you'll be able to Publish Instagram posts and create Instagram Social Analytics Reports.

Instagram Prerequisites
In order to connect your Instagram account to Mention, you must take into account the following prerequisites:
Your account must be a Business Account on Instagram
You must have a Facebook Page
Your Instagram Account must be connected to a Facebook page
If the Instagram account you are using meets the prerequisites from above, then you can scroll down to the next section of the article titled Connect your Instagram Business Account to Mention. If you do not meet the prerequisites just yet, do not worry! We will provide some assistance here:
⚙️ Set up a Business Account on Instagram:
If you are currently using an Instagram Profile, you can switch it to a Business Account using this quick process:
Instagram Mobile App:
Go to your profile and click on the top right corner (the 3 lines)
Head over to Settings and click on Account
From there, you can scroll down and click on Switch to Professional Account
Please fill out the business information such as category, contact info, etc.
Once you've filled everything out, you will be prompted with the option to connect your business account to a Facebook Page. Please connect your new business account to the dedicated Facebook Page of your business. This will ensure the connection to Mention's platform
Instagram Web Platform:
Click on your profile image and go to Settings (top right)
Head over to Switch to Professional Account on the bottom left-hand side
Click on the Business option and choose your category.
Please fill out the business information for your business. Once the information is ready, your Business Account will be created!
From there, follow the steps below to connect to Facebook!
Once you've finished setting up your Business Account and connected it to Facebook, you will be all set! From there, you will be able to connect your account to Mention.
⚙️Connect your Business Account to Facebook:
When you convert your Instagram page into a business account on the mobile app, you will be asked to connect the account to Facebook. If you did not connect it to Facebook during the initial setup or you set up a business account via the web platform, it is totally fine! You can head over to your Facebook and follow these steps:
Facebook Mobile App:
Click on Menu (bottom right)
Find the page you are connecting to Instagram and open it
Click on the ⚙️ at the top right to open Settings
Find the Instagram tab and connect!
Facebook Web Platform:
Head over to the Pages section in your Facebook account
On the Pages You Manage tab, click on the Facebook page that you will connect to the Instagram Account
Once the page opens, scroll down to Settings (left hand side)
Please scroll down until you see Instagram
From there, you can connect to Instagram by logging in with your credentials!
❗Please note that to confirm the connection between Instagram and Facebook, you must be the Admin of the Facebook page. If you are not the admin, please contact the Admin and have them conduct this process!
⚙️ Connect your Instagram Business Account to Mention
Once the prerequisites are met, you can begin the social account connection to Mention! The process is quick and easy, please follow these steps:
Open your Mention web platform and on the left-hand side scroll to the bottom where your profile image is. Please click on your profile image which will bring you to Account Settings.
From there, head over to the Social Accounts tab.
Please click on the button Add Account. This will open a pop-up with the option to choose which social account to connect.
When you click on Instagram Business, you will receive another pop-up which will be the login page for Facebook. Please login to the Facebook account that houses the Facebook Page you connected to your Instagram Account.
Once logged in, Mention will recognize the Instagram Business Accounts connected to your Facebook account. From there, you can choose the business account you would like to connect.
After the connection is set, Mention will ask you if you would like to share access to teammates on your account. You can choose to do so at this time or at a later time. You're all set from here!
Congratulations! Once you've followed these steps, your Instagram Business Account will be connected to Mention.

You have the option of disconnecting your Instagram Account at any time! Here are the steps to delete your social account for you and your entire time:
If you are the only one with access to the account, please head over to social account settings and click on the ⚙️ icon next to the Instagram account you want to remove. From there, a pop-up will appear with the option to delete the social account.
If multiple users have access to the account, please follow the same steps as above. However, when the pop-up appears, please click on the option titled 'Want to delete it for everyone'.
⚙️ Remove Mention Connection on Facebook
If you would like to remove Mention from your list of app connections, you can do so directly on Facebook! Since your Instagram account is connected to a Facebook page, the Mention app will be directly found in Facebook. If you would like to remove Mention, please follow these steps:
On the mobile app:
Go to menu (bottom left)
Click on the ⚙️ at the top right to head into your account settings
From there scroll all the way down until you see Business Integrations
When you click on this section, you will see your connections including Mention. You can remove Mention from there!
On the web platform:
Go to the top right of the page and click on the drop-down menu. There, you will see the Settings & Privacy button. Click on that, then choose Settings.
From there, scroll down until you see Business Integrations.
This page will display the integrations attached to your profile. You can click on the checkbox next to Mention and remove it!
LinkedIN Accounts

If you want to curate LinkedIn posts for Mention Publish or make LinkedIN social account reports, you will need to connect your LinkedIn Company Page to your Mention account. The process is quick and easy with only a few steps for you and your team!

LinkedIn Prerequisites
At this time, you must have access to a LinkedIn Company Page in order to connect to Mention. You cannot add a LinkedIn Profile to Mention.
If you do not have a LinkedIn Company Page yet, you can create one on LinkedIn using your personal account! Please follow the steps below to create your page. If you already have a Company Page, then you can head over to the next section titled Connect a LinkedIn Company Page to Mention!
⚙️Create a LinkedIn Company Page on the LinkedIn Web Platform
Open your LinkedIn account and click on the Work drop-down menu on the top right-hand side.
Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click on Create a Company Page +
From there, please click on the Company option and fill out the information about your business. You're all set from there!
LinkedIn Pages Managed by Teams:
If you are managing your LinkedIn Company Page with multiple team members, please make sure that you have the correct role on the page before connecting to Mention. At this time, you must be one of the following roles:
Super Admin
Content Admin
Sponsored Content Poster
If you do not have one of these roles on the Company Page, please contact the page admin to switch your role to one of these. If you do not have one of these roles, you will encounter an error on Mention while trying to connect! For more help, please contact the Mention Support team!
Connect a LinkedIn Company Page to Mention
Once you have access to a LinkedIn Company Page, you can begin the process of connecting your account to Mention! Please follow the steps below:
Open your Mention web platform and head over to the left-hand side. Scroll to the bottom and click on your profile image. This will bring you to Account Settings.
From there, head over to the tab titled Social Accounts.
Please click on the button Add Account. This will open a pop-up menu with the option to choose a social account.
Once you click on the LinkedIn option, you will receive a second pop-up will appear with information about the LinkedIn prerequisites and permissions. After you read everything, you can begin the connection process.
A new tab will open with the LinkedIn login page. Please login to your LinkedIn account that you manage the page on.
Mention will recognize your credentials and show you a list of pages that the account manages. Please choose the page(s) you want to connect. Afterwards, you can share access to your teammates.
Congratulations! You have now connected your LinkedIn page to Mention. This will allow you to access LinkedIn as a scheduling option in Mention Publish!

⚙️ Remove Mention Mention Connection on LinkedIn's Platform
Deleting a social account on Mention will not remove the integration on the LinkedIn native platform. If you would like to remove the connection, please head over to LinkedIn and follow these steps:
On your LinkedIn account, go to your profile image and click on it. This will open a drop-down menu. Please choose the option titled Settings & Privacy.
From there, a new page will appear. Head over to the Data Privacy section and open it. Please click on the option titled other applications.
On the Other Applications section, you will see an area titled permitted services. This is where you can disconnect apps including Mention at any time!
