Mention Alerts offer two search capabilities: keyword searches and Monitored Pages! Monitored Pages function separately from your keywords search and they will not take into account your search terms.

In this article, we will go over how to access the Monitored Pages feature and which websites you can specifically monitor for a Basic, Standard, or Advanced Alert.

Overview of Monitored Pages

Monitored Pages will track all of the new content posted from the URLs that are added to the alert regardless of the keywords in your alert search. This is a great way to track social handles and reviews for your brand or your competitors.

In the Mention platform, you can access Monitored Pages during alert creation or alert editing. When a new URL is added to the alert, Mention will fetch all new content posted by the social handle or website.

Mention supports the following platforms for the Monitored Pages feature:

Facebook Business Page:

Fetch all comments or posts from the Facebook URL added. Mention will offer the ability to configure your monitoring needs for this platform. You can choose to monitor only posts, only comments, or both !

Twitter Accounts:

Fetch all tweets, replies, and retweets from the Twitter account you add. Mention will offer the ability to monitor only tweets, only replies, only retweets, or everything!

On top of this, Mention will fetch posts when a public account @ mentions the account you are monitoring in your alert!

Instagram Business Page:

Fetch all posts published on the Instagram page and when public account @ mention the Instagram page

Review Websites:

Conduct monitoring on new reviews from a list of Mention's dedicated review sites.

Clarifications:

  • Mention does not track historical data for Monitored Pages

  • With regards to Review Monitoring, Mention has a dedicated list of review sites you can monitor. The list is provided in your alert creation page or editing page.

  • In order to access Instagram Monitoring in Monitored Pages, you must connect an Instagram page to Mention.

  • For Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, you can toggle off the option to monitor own posts. This will disregard the posts / tweets coming from the social media page and will only monitor when external accounts tag the pages instead.

Fetching the Correct URLs for Monitored Pages

In your Mention alerts, you will need to add the specific URL of the pages you are attempting to monitor. This will guarantee that Mention fetches the correct content from the different platforms. Please review the information below for each platform:

Facebook Business Page: please search for the Facebook business page on the Facebook platform. From there, you can paste the URL of the page into your alert.

Example: https://www.facebook.com/mentionapp/

❗ Mention will only accept URLs of Facebook business pages. The alert will not accept Facebook profile or Facebook group URLs.

Twitter Account: please find the Twitter account on Twitter's platform and paste the URL of the profile into your alert.

Example: https://twitter.com/Mention

Instagram Business Page: please find the Instagram Business Page on Instagram's platform and paste the URL of the page into your alert.

Example: https://www.instagram.com/mention_app/

❗You must connect an Instagram Business Page to Mention before adding a URL to your alert. If not, you will receive an error.

Review Pages: head over to the Review website and search for the profile of the business or product you want to monitor. Please paste the profile URL into your alert.
