Mention is a real-time media monitoring tool that sends mentions of your keywords directly into your feed. Connecting Mention to Slack ensures you receive updates instantly when someone talks about you, your competitors, or any monitored topic.

1. Go into the Alerts settings

After creating an Alert, hover over the Alert name. When your cursor is positioned over the Alert, the Edit button appears. Click it to open the Alert settings.

2. Add your Alert to Slack

In the left menu of the Alert settings, select Add to Slack.

3. Allow Mention to access your Slack workspace

A Slack permissions window appears. Use the dropdown menu to choose the Slack channel where Mention should send updates, then allow access.

4. Select what you want to receive

In the next pop-in window, choose the content you want delivered to Slack:

  • Daily recap & statistics

  • All new mentions in real time or only mentions from influential sources

    • You can select a minimum Influence Score.

    • The default Influence Score is 50.

    • To receive all mentions, set the score to 0.

You can also change the previously selected Slack channel.

Once configured, Mention sends daily recap messages and/or new mentions directly to your selected Slack channel.

If you want to remove the integration later, see How to Remove Your Slack Integration.

How to Remove Your Slack Integration

If you need to disconnect Mention from Slack, follow the two steps below.

1. Manage your Slack apps

In Slack, open your personal menu, go to Administration, then select Manage apps.

2. Delete your Slack authorizations

You’ll be taken to a Slack page showing your authorized apps. Click Remove configuration to delete the Mention authorization.

That's all! You can set new integrations again whenever needed.
