There might be times where you are not ready to post content just yet. Maybe you are waiting for a new media asset for your post or you are simply ahead of schedule and you're preparing content for a future campaign. Nonetheless, Mention Publish will provide you with a dedicated folder to view and manage your drafted posts!

In this article, we will provide you information on how to access the Draft folder and review your list of drafted posts. From there, we will teach you how to transfer content to your Content Calendar whenever you want!

Access the Draft Folder

To access the Draft folder, please open your Publish tool. From there, the Draft folder will appear as the second tab in your list of Publish features. If you already have drafted posts, they will appear in this page in a list format.

Mention will provide a preview of your posts with the following information:

  • The social media platform and account that your post will be published to.

  • A preview of the text caption that is written for the post.

  • The potential scheduled time of the post. Mention will not publish the post on this date unless you transfer the post from Draft to the Calendar.

  • The name and date of the team member that created the post or the name and date of the team member that recently updated the post.

  • If your post has an error, Mention will notify you on this list.

If you would like to fully preview the content of drafted posts, simply click on a post to open the side-panel preview!

๐Ÿ’กMention Tip: if your list of drafted posts is long, you can utilize the Filters button to narrow down your drafts by specific social media platforms or accounts! You can also use the Sort By menu to re-arrange the view of your posts. Both options are available at the top-right of your Draft page!

Review Post Errors

If you recognize a โš ๏ธ icon next to your post, you will need to fix any errors on the post before scheduling content to the Calendar. Post errors are typically related to the configuration of your social media post such as an expired social account token or a choosing a calendar date from the past.

To view the error message, you can:

  • Hover over the โš ๏ธ icon in your list of drafts

  • Open the preview of your post to view the full error message

Once your post errors are fixed, you can move the post to your Content Calendar.

Transfer Drafts to the Content Calendar

You have the option of moving your drafts to the Content Calendar or you can publish the post instantly at any time! To do this, please open the preview of the social media post by clicking on it in your list. From there you have the following options:

  • If the scheduled time is correct and the post is ready, you can simply click on Schedule at the bottom of the preview.

  • If you want to modify the scheduled date or make any last minute changes to the post, please click on Edit and change the time of the post. Once its ready, click on Schedule at the bottom of the preview.

  • If your team utilizes the Approval Workflow, you can request for post approval from a Moderator.
