We’re excited to introduce the Emotion Analysis feature, a powerful new tool designed to help you gain deeper insights into the emotional tone behind mentions of your brand. This feature goes beyond traditional sentiment analysis by detecting and categorizing emotions, providing you with more nuanced data to inform your engagement strategies.

The Emotion Analysis feature is available to users on all plans.

Key Features:

  • Advanced Emotion Detection: Using our proprietary AI, the Emotion Analysis feature identifies seven key emotions in mentions: Joy, Surprise, Disgust, Sadness, Fear, Anger, and Neutral. This adds a layer of emotional understanding where simple sentiment analysis might be insufficient.

  • Emotion Filtering: You can now filter your feed to show only mentions with specific emotions, helping you focus on the emotional contexts most relevant to your brand.

  • AI-Powered Insights: Track emotional trends over time, giving you a clear view of how your audience’s feelings evolve and allowing for more effective responses.

How It Works

Emotion Analysis uses advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI to analyze text for emotional cues, detecting keywords, context, and underlying sentiment. Each mention is tagged with a single, dominant emotion, helping you better understand the tone of conversations about your brand.

How to Use It

  1. Viewing Emotions: In your feed, each mention is tagged with one of the seven emotions directly on the mention card. Expanding a mention shows the emotion next to its sentiment.

  2. Filtering by Emotion: You can filter your feed to display only mentions containing specific emotions, so you can focus on relevant conversations.

  3. Reporting & Charting: QuickChart users can generate emotion-specific charts, allowing for more detailed reporting on emotional trends over time.

Limitations to Be Aware Of

Historical Data: Emotion analysis is only available for new mentions starting from July 12, 2023. It does not apply to mentions fetched before that date.

Sarcasm and Irony Detection: The algorithm may struggle with sarcasm and irony, which can lead to misclassifications.

Single Emotion Tagging: Each mention is tagged with a single dominant emotion, which may oversimplify complex emotional expressions.
