Modify Data Reports

Learn how to customize the visualizations of your Mention Reports

Mention's Data Reports allow you to view important metrics throughout a fixed period of time. Mention offers the ability to create analytic reports using a list of our pre-made templates. You have the option of modifying these reports in different ways depending on your Mention subscription.

In this article, we will teach you the editing capabilities of your Mention Data Reports based on your subscriptions.

Pro & ProPlus Subscription

The Pro & ProPlus subscription allows you to access the Listening and Comparative Data Reports. Below, we will discuss how to modify these Reports:

If you are on the Mention Pro or Pro Plus plan, you have the option of modifying your reports before they are created using filters. During Report creation, the filters will allow you filter your analytics by language, countries, tags, influence, sources or specific keywords.

At this time, you cannot edit the visualizations or time period of your Reports.

To modify your Report's filters, please follow these steps:

  1. Choose the report you want to create.

  2. On the Configuration page, please write the name and select the alerts(s).

  3. Choose the time period you want to modify. This is the only time you can modify the time period on your Report!

  4. Once you have completed the steps above, a section tiled Advanced Presets will appear. Please click on this section to open the Filters.

  5. From here, you can modify the filters and save them.

Once these filters are saved, you can create the Report! Once created, you can modify the Report's title or description.

Please note that the filters and time period you set are permanent on your Report. If they need to be changed, you will need to re-create the report!

Company Plan

The Company subscription allows you to access the following pre-made reports: Listening, Comparative, and Mention List. You also have access to the Custom Report which is not a pre-made template. Nonetheless, you can edit Custom Reports in the same manner once you create your modules manually. Below, we will go over the modification options for all four reports:

The Mention Company Plan allows you to edit your Report at any time! You have the option of editing the visualizations, time period, and filters after your initial report is created.

Before you create a Report, you have the option of adjusting your filters and time period. You can follow the steps listed above to edit your filters. Once created, you can modify these filters at any time.

After your Report is created, you can use the Edit Mode button to modify the visualizations, time period, and filters. The button is located on the upper right-hand side of your page:

You can also access quick edit mode by clicking on the edit button of a module:

In Edit Mode, you have the following options:

  • Move your graphs in a different order

  • Duplicate or delete specific modules

  • Edit the segmentation, visualization, and size of your individual modules

  • Change or add multiple alerts to a specific graph

  • Adjust the filter of each module

    • If you click on Select All at the top right of your page, you can change the filters for every module in your report

Once you have made adjustments to your Report, you can Save the changes!
