If you are scheduling large volumes of social media posts consistently or overseeing multiple social campaigns on Publish, you can utilize Tags to organize your Content Calendar. Tags can be created at any time and they will allow you to filter your calendar by specific posts.

In this article, we will teach you how to create and modify tags in Publish as well as how to apply a tag to your social media posts.. Here is an overview of the article:

Create, Edit, or Delete Calendar Tags

If you would like to create a Tag for your Content Calendar, you will need to go to your Account Settings. Within your Settings page, you will need to head over to the Publish tab. The Tags section will appear at the top of the page:

On this page, you can create, edit, or delete your tags. Please follow the steps below for each option:

--

Create a Tag

To create a new tag for your calendar, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Add Tag button and a pop-up will appear on your page.

  2. Please write the name of the tag first. A color will already be pre-set for your tag but you can change it at any time.

  3. Once you are satisfied, please Save the tag and it will display on the page.

--

Edit a Tag

You have the option of modifying the name or color of the tag at any time. To conduct this process, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on the name of the tag.

  2. From there, a pop-up will appear. Please make your edits on this page and click on Save. You are all set from there!

--

Delete a Tag

If you would like to delete a tag, please follow these steps:

  1. Please click on the X that appears next to the name of the tag.

  2. From there, a disclaimer will appear. If you are ready to delete the tag, please click on the Delete button. You are all set from there!

❗When you delete a tag, the posts on your Calendar will simply be un-tagged. They will not be deleted.

Apply Tags to Posts on the Calendar

Once your tags are created, you can head over to your Content Calendar to apply them to your social media posts at any time.

If you would like to apply a tag to a post, please create and schedule your social media post first. Once your post is on the Calendar, please click on the post you want to tag. This will open the side-panel preview of your post:

Above the preview of your post, you will see a tag icon. Please click on this button:

When clicked, a pop-up will appear on your page. Please click on the drop-down menu that is titled tags. This menu will display the list of tags you have created. You have the option of choosing one or multiple tags to apply to your post:

Once you are ready, you can click on the Save button to save your preferences. You are all set from there!

Filter by Tags in the Calendar

Once you have applied your tags to social media posts, you can view the tags in two different ways:

Post Preview:

If you click on a social media post from the Calendar, the preview will appear. On your post, you will see that the post has the tags listed in the preview:

--

Calendar Filters:

On the Calendar, you can filter by the tags you have created. Please click on the Filters button at the top-right of the page and choose the tag you would like to filter by:

Remove Tags from Posts on the Calendar

You can utilize the Content Calendar to remove tags from your social media posts. If you would like to remove a tag from a post, please click on the post to open the preview panel.

Once the preview panel appears, please click on the tag you want to remove or the tag icon. This will open the pop-up with the list of tags:

Please find the tag you want to remove and click on the X that appears next to the name of the tag. This will automatically remove the tag from your post:

Finally, you can Save your post to keep the configurations.

❗Please note that this process will not delete the tag, it will just remove the tag from the post. If you would like to delete the tag completely from your account, please go to this section of the article.

We hope that the tags will allow you to organize your social media posts on the Content Calendar and make it easier for you to view posts for specific campaigns! If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
