Mention's Social Analytics Reports offer an in-depth view of online performance for your accounts or your competitors. The data from these Reports come directly from the social media platforms you would like to review. Mention offers two types of Social Analytic Reports for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

To create these different reports, you can go to the Analytics tab and click on the first icon. From there, click on 'create a Report' at the top of your page.

The Individualized Twitter/Facebook/Instagram Account Reports require your Social Media Accounts to be connected to Mention. It will enable you to get precise information about your social performances by showing you impressions and engagement figures.

The Competitive Twitter/Facebook/Instagram Reports don't need you to connect your Account to Mention. All you have to do is copy and paste the URL of the Account you would like to monitor to the Mention tool. Thanks to this Report, you can compare 2 to 5 Accounts at the same time! It can be helpful for benchmarking or browsing content strategy.

Below, we will go over each Report type and how they function! Please be aware that Competitive Reports are only available on the Mention Company Plan.


★ Twitter Account Report

The Twitter Report allows you to have a better understanding of your Twitter page performance.

It requires your Twitter Account being connected to Mention, which you need to add in the Settings of your Mention Account. Once you add the Twitter Account you will be able to get precise information about it.

If you want to create a Twitter Account Report, please click on this type of Report and follow these steps:

1. Choose a name for your Twitter Report:

2. Select your Twitter Account in the dropdown menu.

3. Choose the time period for your Report

4. Click on Create Report.

Once the Report is created you will be able to see.

  • How many tweets you have posted in the selected time period.

  • The engagement of your community with your posts, allowing you to see the amount of likes, replies, retweets and quotes.

  • The followers evolution, allowing you to see how many followers you have gained or lost.

  • The followers locations and languages. To better understand the profile of your followers.

  • The top tweets of the selected time period.

★ Competitive Twitter Report

This Report allows you to compare the performance of your Twitter Account with your competitors' activity. You just need to copy and paste the URL of their Twitter handle.

This Competitive Report is very helpful to analyze the content and strategy of your main competitors without spending hours scrolling through their publications. The Report will show you the main keywords, the most important hashtags, the best publications in terms of engagement and even the publications they share.

To create this Report:

1. Choose the name for your Report:

2. Add the Twitter Account of your competitors

3. Select a time period

4. Click on Create Report.

Once the Report is created you will be able to see:

  • The audience evolution from your page and your competitors.

  • The top hashtags that they are using.

  • The top posts from Twitter including the amount of likes and retweets.

  • The post per pay including text, photos, and videos.


★ Facebook Account Report

The Facebook Report allows you to have a better understanding of your Facebook business page performance.

It requires your Facebook Business Account to be connected, so you need to add it in the Settings of your Mention Account. Once you add the Facebook Account, you will be able to get precise information about it.

To create this one:

1. Choose the name for your Report:

2. Add your Facebook Business page.

3. Select a time period.

4. Click on Create Report.

Once this Facebook Report is created, you will be able to see:

  • The impressions of your community in the selected time period.

  • The engagement of your community on your facebook page.

  • The amount of likes you have received from your followers in the selected time period.

  • The evolution of those like, in comparison to previous time periods.

  • Age, gender and top countries of your followers.

  • Top posts of the selected time period, with the amount of likes, comments and shares.

★ Competitive Facebook Report

This Report allows you to analyze the performance of your Facebook business page compared to your competitors. You just need to copy and paste the URL of their Facebook handle.

This Facebook Competitive Report is very helpful to analyze the content and strategy of your main competitors without spending hours scrolling through their publications. The report will show you the main keywords, the best publications in terms of engagement and even the publications they share.

Once the Report is created you will be able to see:

  • The audience evolution from your page and your competitors.

  • The top keywords being used by your competitors.

  • The top post, including likes and comments.

  • The posts per day, including status, videos, photos, links, etc.


★ Instagram Account Report

The Instagram Report allows you to have a better understanding of your Instagram Business account performance. It requires your Instagram Business Page to be connected, which you need to add in the Settings of your Mention Account. Once you add the Instagram Business Account, you will be able to get precise information about it.

To create this one, please follow these steps:

1. Choose a name for your Instagram Report:

2. Connect your Instagram Business account

3. Select a time period.

4. Click on Create Report.

Once the Report is created you will be able to see:

  • The impressions of your community in the selected time period.

  • The engagement of your community on your Instagram page.

  • The followers evolution, allowing you to see how many followers you have gained or lost.

  • The evolution of the post per day including photos, videos and carousels.

  • The engagement of your followers by post including likes and comments.

  • Age, gender and top countries of your followers, to better understand the profile of your community.

  • Top posts.

★ Competitive Instagram Report

This report allows you to compare the performance of your Instagram Business account compared to your competitors. You just need to copy and paste the URL of their Instagram handle, this Competitive Report is very helpful to analyze the content and strategy of your main competitors without spending hours scrolling through their publications. The Report will show you the main keywords, the most important hashtags, the best publications in terms of engagement and even the publications they share.

Once the Report is created you will be able to see:

  • The audience evolution from your page and your competitors.

  • The top hashtags that they are using.

  • The top posts from Instagram including the amount of likes.

  • The post per pay including photos, videos and carousels.


Clarifications on the Social Analytics Reports

Now that you understand the creation process and how each Report works, please find some clarifications on the feature below!

  • Social Account Data Fetching: there are some social media pages that are not in the Mention database. Due to this, some data may be missing when you first create a Social Analytics Report! Please allow for a few hours before checking in on the report. Mention's data refreshing is asynchronous data will appear within some time.

  • Facebook Analytics Reports - Likes & Dislikes: you may notice 'dislikes' in your Facebook Report even though Facebook does not have a dislike button. The dislikes in your Report corresponds to people unliking the page!

  • Competitive Social Analytics Reports feature: please remember that the Competitive Report is only available for the Mention Company Plan.

  • Trending Hashtags: you may notice a 🔥 next to some hashtags in your Report. This is known as a Trending Hashtag and it appears when new hashtags are utilized in the social account you are monitoring.
