Publish allows you to easily schedule content across your Social Media channels. To begin using scheduling, you will first need to connect your Social Profiles to the Mention platform. In this article, we will teach you how to:

  • Connect your Social Accounts to Publish

  • Schedule your posts through the Calendar and Composer

  • Schedule multiple posts

  • Share Social Account access to teammates (Pro, ProPlus, and Company Plan)

Connect your Social Account to Publish

💡 If you have already connected any Account to Mention, Publish will automatically start working with your connected Account! If you click on the Publish tab, you will immediately see your Social Media calendar.

If there are currently no Social Accounts connected to the Mention tool, you will be offered the option to directly connect your first Account by clicking on the Publish tab. Please click on the Add Your First Social Account button and connect the Social Accounts that you would like to use for Publish:

Once your first Account is connected, the calendar will appear. You can now begin scheduling your social media posts for the accounts that have been connected! If you would like to connect more social accounts, please click on the Add an Account button on the left-hand side of your calendar:

To view the Social Accounts already connected to Publish, you can click on the Filters button at the top right-hand side of your calendar.

Schedule Posts on Publish

There are two methods to scheduling your post:

  • Click on a Calendar Slot to open the Composer

  • Click on the Compose new post button at the top of your page

★ Schedule a post from a Calendar slot

You can pick the specific date and time of posting by clicking on the large calendar in your Publish page. Once you click on the calendar, the option to choose your account will appear. Please follow the next few steps to curate your post:

1. Choose a Social Account to post from:

2. Once clicked, the Composer will open. Here, you can:

  • Write the text and attach media to your post

  • Preview the post in the way that it appears on social media

  • Adjust the publishing time

    • ❗️The calendar coincides with the timezone of your Account. You can view the timezone of your Mention account in your Account Settings and make adjustments as needed.

3. Once you have finalized the post, you can choose to save it as a draft or schedule the post.

Compose New Post Button

If you use the Compose new post button instead of the Calendar, you will be directly brought to the Composer.

When you choose this option, your Composer will not have a publishing time. You must manually add the time of publishing. This is the only difference between the two options!

Once you write your post, you can save it as a draft or schedule it in the same way!

Schedule Multiple Posts

In your Composer, you will notice the button titled New Post. This button allows you to multi-task and write multiple posts at the same time! This is great if you would like to schedule multiple posts to go out at the same time or simply copy content from one post to other social accounts.

❗️This feature is only available during post creation. It is not available in Edit mode.

1. To use this feature, please head over to the Composer. From there, you can click on new post and choose the social account. You have the option of choosing another social account or the same one!

2. Once selected, you can freely switch between the accounts and adjust the text, attachments, and publishing time.

3. If you want to delete the post, simply hover over the social account and click on the trash icon:

Copy Text from a Post Automatically

To save time in curating your Publish Calendar, we offer the ability to Copy Text automatically from one account to another for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts.

To use this feature, you will need to:

  1. Compose a social post from Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter

  2. From there, please write up the social media post

  3. Next, please click on the New Post button and choose a Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter social account

❗️Copy Content only allows you to copy text. If your post contains a photo, video or tagged Account, the option will not display.

View Your Scheduled Posts and Drafts

Once you are all done, you can schedule your post and it is ready to go! Feel free to view the scheduled posts at any time. Your drafted posts will appear on in the Draft folder at the top of your page.

If you want to edit your post prior to the date of posting, you can as well. If not, your post will automatically go live for Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn! To stay on top of all your posts, you can turn on Publish notifications to view when your posts go live!

Publish Team Management

If you would like to use Publish with multiple Team Members, the best method of connecting your Accounts is through the Social Accounts Settings. From there, you can share access to those Social Media Accounts to the Teammates of your choice.

❗️Providing your Teammates with access to Accounts will allow them to curate posts for that Social Media Account on their Publish tool within their Mention profile.
