The Mention Feed is the main area where you can review the alerts and mentions in your account. The Feed is designed to look like a regular email inbox that you can navigate with ease. It is divided into three sections:

  • The List of Alerts

  • The List of Mentions

  • The Mention Preview

In this article, we will provide you with a full comprehensive overview of the Feed and teach you how to navigate the sections as well as how to engage with your Mention.

🧠 Before we begin, please take a moment to review the following glossary terms that are used in your Mention Platform:

  • Alerts: An alert is the specific subject(s) that you want to monitor on Mention. Mention Alerts monitor the web and social media using text words or phrases. This means that you can use an Alert to monitor your brand, competitors, a product, and more!

  • Mentions: A mention is a specific piece of content that is fetched into your account. Mentions contain the text words or phrases that you are monitoring in your alert. These mentions can cary from website articles, tweets, and more.

Access the Feed

To access your Mention Feed, please hover your cursor over to the Navigation Bar and click on the Feed Icon at the top of your page:

List of Alerts in the Feed

The first section in the Feed is your List of Alerts which will display the alerts created in your account:

The List of Alerts will allow you to navigate between each alert from your Feed. When you click on the name of an alert, you will open the alert and access the mentions in the alert.

--

When you first open an alert, your Feed will display this information:

  1. Title of the Alert: The name that you've given your alert.

  2. Total Mentions: The total number of mentions that the alert has fetched since its creation.

  3. Inbox Folders: The area where you can review the mentions fetched in your alert. In this section, you can access multiple inbox folders as well as any Saved Filters you created.

  4. Tags, Tasks, and Activity: These tabs will display any tag folders you've created as well as actions taken on your Mention Feed.

  5. Unread Mentions: This icon will display the number of unread mentions that you have not reviewed in your Feed yet.

  6. Edit Icon: If you click on these 3 dots you can edit your alert, pause your alert, or access the Report Creation Page.

💡 Mention Tip - Unread Mentions:

If you hover your cursor over the unread mentions number , you will see the exact number of unread mentions in your alert:

--

Alerts that are not opened will display the name of the alert and the edit icon:

⚙️ If you have unread mentions in an alert, you will see the unread number appear next to the name of the alert. If your alert is paused , you will see the orange pause icon appear as well.

💡 Mention Tip - Distinguishing Between Open & Closed Alerts

In the Feed, an open alert will be displayed with a white border. Alerts that are closed will have a silver coloring around them:
